With those engine bars, the question that springs to mind is: Why?

What do the headguards offer that you wouldn't get from the engine bars? What situations could you get into where the engine bars wouldn't protect the engine?

That's what mine looked like after a slider on a French diesel sprayed roundabout. The plastic thingy probably would have been spread all over the road. I haven't so far, but now I could fix it with a bit of black paint.


And here's another reason:

Not mine but it does illustrate that sometimes the engine bars don't protect the valve covers very well.

hi arthurge. engine bars are BMW adventure bars. was around £200 as an option. about £500 if you try and buy them after. can be fitted to a std R1150GS but you need to modify the bash plate, or if you try and fit an adventure bash plate to a std gs it wont unless you make some brackets or get the adventure stand mounts. nick
