Hi all

I have just got my secdem screen (10 days 130 odd Euros and seems great quality), and went to fit it

NO FITTING TOOL IN TOOL KIT - TORQ SPANNER ?????

in fact very little at all, should there be one ?

and while im banging on what should there be and should there be a puncture kit, i swear the dealer mentioned it

thanks in advance

There's a separate thread somewhere with more detail but it appears BM have cut the tool kit right back and omitted the puncture repair kit for 2005 spec models. A major retrograde step IMO.

:(

Fortunately for me, my 12GS has the full kit, but if it didn't I would be looking to get the missing parts. What's extra annoying is that the cost of purchasing the missing components will undoubtedly be many time more than any savings BMWmade.

I suppose you could complain to BMW, but in the meantime I would insist the dealer provides the missing parts. After all, this is the best part of a 10 grand bike.

There's something wrong there - my toolkit has all the bits including some torx keys (like allen keys). I suggest you ask your dealer for a replacement.

Wasn't there a thread on this a while back?

Don't want to throw a spanner in the works here but the point you all seem to be missing here is that one sentence all the manufactures seem to have in their handbooks which is "that manufacture's may vary or alter the specification without notice"
As in the case here - the tool kit
Here's another example-a pal of mine is just purchasing a top of the range 1 series car for his missus, guess what it doesn't come with a spare wheel cos apparently they have run flat tyres fitted, personally i'd still rather have a spare wheel like the rest of the range has.
The K1200S just comes with a small screwdriver and thats your lot.
Unfortunately it just seems to be the way things are going at the moment:rolleyes:

this is the best part of a 10 grand bike.

Zmeagol reckons the tool kit is the best part of his 1200:D:D
What about the handling, power, lack of weight etc etc?
