After much deliberation on Autocom / Starcom 1 Digital I have gone for the Starcom 1.

Just picked up the gear and at this time looks very impressive. I have gone for the Bluetooth module and hope to fit on Friday. I will update on here for the fitting with pics (if anyone is interested?)

I thought this would be a meaty thread, with loads of technical pics and fitting advice.
No got the item today (prior to work) Sat here at work checking the kit out and decided to fit it at work on a break.

I pulled out my upper battery tray and fitted the kit to that. Wired up to my Fuzeblock (nippy normans) which was already fitted for my spot / driving lights.

Once connected powered up, paired my sat nav with the Starcom bluetooth device and pop. Done and dusted right out of the box. Good sound from the satnav. and Good clear conversation (riding round the car park at work on the phone to a mate who thought I was in the office) Vox works well, all I have had to do is set my volume lever a little lower as it was too loud.

MP3 works really well, and yep does what it says on the tin. Well impressed. Took me longer to fit the helmet kit than it did to fit the devise to the bike...

Well done Starcom, a sorted bit of kit.

I will upload some pics soon. but a really easy fit. (less than 10 mins)

What a piece of kit

Wow, took me about 20 mins this morning to set it up, I have set it so my
MP3 music doesn't cut out unless I am getting conversation from my phone or sat-nav directions. It plays as I speak to the passenger.
Although the voice is much louder and I can hear her very well.
Conversations upto 90 are fine (crystal clear) , I have not tied above that yet.
The music is good upto 80 (I tried a talking book so I could check clarity)

I am getting an I pod touch which will connect via bluetooth and should be a little better and hold more music.

On the whole I am very impressed with this kit, its not the cheapest on the market, I did look at the Scala G4 but that would have needed re-charging every day and as I am going on a trip to Europe this year, I wanted something I could use without re-charging or messing with.

I did not try the Autocom as a good friend has one on his GS, he cannot connect his phone to this and was having trouble with getting the correct leads for his headset. I am sure his could be sorted out, but with the reviews of Starcom on here I made my mind up that is what I wanted, I am pleased with my choice.

have they at last launched a stereo bluetooth module - I do not think so.

So the music will be in mono :(

HI,
Starcom have launched a Stereo Bluetooth Module it is the BTM-02 it is a full A2DP Bluetooth, I know because I had to get one for my Navigator IV to connect to my starcom Digital.
