First off, great service from Starcom today at the NEC where they sorted me out with a Starcom Digital and Kenwood radio for the girlfriend's F650GS. I was trying to get the less powerful Radio so I could get myself out of receiving distance that much quicker and wouldn't have to put up with idle chitchat and observations about cow's udders etc.etc. Also picked up a remote for my own Starcom Digital. Free fitting kit (or bluetooth module) as a show special and a decent discount for mentioning the GSer club membership - really happy.
Starcoms seem to be in the minority here and trying to find photos (not just text) of where best to fit any of the comms systems seems a bit hit and miss. Can't find that all encompassing post which really shows me what I should be doing - or perhaps what NOT to do! What we could do with is a sticky which has some decent photos of where and how to wire in a system, be it Starcom or whatever you happen to have (I promise to take some photos myself when the time comes to get my pliers out). Have fitted a Starcom to a GS, but never a GSA - any ideas other than the back of the tank (which seems to be the worst place to put the main unit)? Any photos available to show me the best routing for cables? Any advice greatly received.
Chars,
Harry
