Starter for a Triumph Thunderbird Sport

Bit of a long shot, anyone know where I could source a starter for a 1990 Triumph Thunderbird Sport?

Apart from any local Triumph Dealer or eBay private sales,try Total Triumph (Google it....also they have an eBay shop).

1990 thought they weren't made til 1996?
most of the early Hinckley Triumphs bits are interchangeable - approx 1992 to 1996ish.
Some of the later ones are / some aren't.
you'd need to pin it down more.

Opsy, the year is indeed 2000.

The latest mechanic thinks it's the starter itself as opposed to the sprag clutch. Applying current directly to the starter produces nothing.
(Hopefully it's not he sprag clutch as that will be a disaster).


No Triumph dealers in Ireland, and even worse, the bike was originally bought in the US and brought home when the owner returned home. Ebay was an option but my 'client' wanted to speak to a supplier to confirm a few things before purchasing.

May be the solanoid? There is a breakers selling a mix of parts on ebay just now
