Starter Motor 1150

Hi All
A mate and I just been off around France, Germany & Austria had great time :JB

, any way his starter motor died :censor:

, the metal cover off the reduction box came off and shorted out everything when starting, result = the plastic brush holder over heated and fell apart :forry

I managed to fix the part to get us home. :mac

Any one got one? Or know where you can get one? :bow

Looked on Motoworks and they do everything but that part :eek

. The rest off the starter motor is ok now.

Not sure if there is anyone local to you who rebuilds car starters but when my 1150 gs ate its starter I had it rebuilt by a car starter motor specialist.
Apparently a lot of the starters internals are shared with those of some of the older peugeot/ citroen /renault/fiat valeo petrol range of starters.

Theres a place near me that can do that, its a pretty common starter apparently so plenty of them can donate parts
