This has to be a record, picked my GSA/LC up yesterday morning the same afternoon starter switch FUCKED won't more either way

If it is the same as the standard GS, then mine played up the first time I clicked it upwards to kill the bike. It then stuck solid. As I was in the middle of Wales and had to get home I just used a fair degree of force and it then yielded, but I do mean pressing to the point of expecting it to break. I was getting desperate as I was at a tea stop surrounded by an amused audience of cruiser riders and it was kill or cure. It has been OK since.

Yep the same thing happened click up to kill and locked sold, back to the dealers tomorrow for new switch cluster

I am hoping i am nnot tempting fate here, but mine has been a bit stiff on a number of occaisions (ooeer!),but thankfully kept on working. Goiing in for a service next week so shall mention it..

Silicone spray.

Yep works for me I find it gets stiff to operate after a few washes, so after each wash I give the switches a spray of GT85 never had a problem since. I've had two a GS and currently a GSA same issue on both.

Basic maintenance Terry :blagblah
PS but do agree it shouldn't happen especially first day or so, the switches are not as good as the Jap bikes or triumphs I've owned

Yep same for me....these are poor quality switches allround. Poorest ive ever had on any machine. Chinese yes. Give my switches a regular dose of silicone spray too but this needs doin regular. Very poor really a d not good enough for the price tag.

Beware that spaying chemicals into the switches might 'rot' the little rubber water seals on the micro switches.

Silicone is rubber safe as are WD40 and GT85. ACF-50 is also rubber safe but gets sticky so likely to cause mechanical problems.

Silicone spray/grease....very good for rubber n plastic. Stops deteriation and drying and slippy as hell. Great stuff...bring ya bike up like brand new.
