After a recent run-out I left the engine running, put the side stand out and went to thank the run leader. When I got back on the bike and went to lift the side stand I inadvertently hit the gear leaver and CLUNK! I re-started then noticed that my speedo wasn't working. Some says later and before I had a chance to check the speed-sensor, I had a quick check ride and the speedo seems to have corrected itself. However since that time I have had problems on initial start-up. So much so that I have had to hold the starter and use the throttle to get the engine to keep going . After a short period I can ease-off the revs and after a couple of minutes of riding (keeping the revs up and slipping the clutch if I have to change down or stop) the bike will settle down. Once it is warmed-up it seems to be ok but if I switch-off I still have to give the throttle a blip (although not as bad as initial start-up).
A Diagnostic is not showing any problems and the Throttle synch is perfect. I have checked Valve and rocker gaps, changed all plugs and air filter and done a compression test. It seems to be a cold-starting /fuel problem but I can't put a finger on it and it is weird that the problem started after my CLUNK experience. Although a 2005 GS it has only done 29K. Any help welcomed. regards Booty

Could be an ecu glitch, disconnecting the battery for a couple of minutes would clear it.
You say Diagnostics not showing any problem, Idle actuators are working as they should , air temperature sensor in the airbox, not the one under the beak is reading approx. true as it is a cold start problem.
As common to both cylinders I would start with these.
