I read many posts here about the Stebel Nautilus and fitted one approx 2 months ago.
trumpet facing backwards to avoid water ingress etc etc.
Last night pressed button and blew 20 amp fuse.
Got home and replaced fuse and all I get is a loud click from inside the horn each time I press the button.
All leads and connections intact.
Took horn off and checked for obvious water problems, dry as the preverbial bone.
Anyone help me out please ?

Give it 2 paracetamol, put it to bed for a day, it should then have it's voice back, and get back to work.

Horn

Don't be stupid steptoe, You can't give it 2 Paracetamol it's only

2 months old!

Alright, 2 teaspoons of calpol, but this might make it even quieter :D :D

Sorry to say that it sounds f*cked this type of horn is actually a motor/fan & I suspect that the armature has come out of it's mountings/stator, as the horn is a sealed unit it is not really repairable. I would contact your supplier & get it changed as it's only a few month's old.

Thanks Steptoe ?

Much easier to fit, same as O/E, no extra wires needed, not as loud, but Dam good, makes the numptys jump.
And no problem with water ingress.
Very pleased with mine.

Or fit a pair of Fiamms under the beak - facing forwards to laugh in the face of water ingress - cost about £15 and fail after 75k miles.

Yes - the Fiams are great - I've got one (the lower tone from the two tone set) under the beak - it sits right where the old horn was.

Very loud and super cheap from Halfords.

For what it's worth.............

Needless to say as soon as mine was delivered I had to try it out, I did this by connecting direct to the battery and just touching the wires to the battery terminals. This produced a sound like the one you describe. Now with the wiring properly done it works fine.

I'd wire it straight to the battery as a test, making sure the connections are good. If it still sounds crappy then it's bust. If it's OK like this then look at the wiring and relay.
