Cleaning the bike today and noticed oil residue around the right hand front fork, right hand calliper, and the back part of the mud guard. On further investigation I found oil on the end of the steering damper so I assume the damper has relieved itself of oil has anyone else have this let go or is it a common fault ?:

Did you have the front fork stanchion recall done, it could be the fork seal, others have noted this already.

The recall was done but I wouldn't have much faith in the competency of the dealer. There was a definite drip from the end bolt but that could have come from higher up, further investigation required.

My bet the front fork........:beerjug: keep us posted

On closer inspection it is the right hand strut that is leaking, has anyone replaced these seals?

2015 wouldn't be hopeful serviced last week and the dealer didn't notice the issue

I will give them a call tomorrow and see what happens.

If the recall was done at the same time as the service the dealer should take responsibility.

It happened to me and Vines bent over backwards to help me.

Not sure if my Dublin dealer does bending never mind backwards, I'll give them the opportunity tomorrow I may be mistaken.

Noticed oil on my fork legs a couple of days after I had the recall done.
Dealer didn’t even question it and put new fork seals in while I waited.
Doubt you will have any problems if the recall was done anytime recently

I was mistaken, the seals on the forks were replaced without any hesitation by the dealer while I waited and without any hassle.

Thought that might be the case. It appears to be not completely uncommon that the fork seals leak after the recall. Not always immediately after either.

Thanks, me too as I am due to head off this week for a 5 day spin which was looking doubtful last week.
