Has anyone had and problems with the top yoke steering bearings my bike has just had its 6000 mile service when I took it in I said that the steering felt strange it had a knock! They fitted a new bearing and all seemed well, 200 milles down the road and I seem to have a slight bit of play again the dealer said to me on the phone that it may be handel bar flex:confused: As this is the third GSA I have owned and never had this problem before I wonder if I should get another opinion.

Not sure if it is relevant for your case , but anyway:

When my bike still was relatively new I discovered something similar. Based on a tip here I checked where there front fork has its lower connection to the bike. The bolts which tighten the grip of the lower bridge arround the fork legs were slightly loose. I know my English is poor, hope you understand anyway :nenau.
I tightened them (torque wrench!) and checked after a while again. Also that I could tighten them a bit. It solved the issue for me and since then do not seem to loosen any more.
Aperently that happened on a couple of bikes, not sure if it also applies for the newer ones like yours (mine is 05).

Thanks jogo I did check them bolts as I had that fault on my 05 gs aswell, And by the way your English is :thumb2

Had a similar problem on a 2010 GS -feels like its the top yolk bearing has play in it even when its a new bearing.
The problem is in the forks. You can feel movement when wheeling the bike around at walking pace turning the steering slightly.
The sharp edge of the fork stanchion inside the fork is catching on the plastic spacer bushes inside the bottom section of the fork leg.
The bushes are basically sections of plastic pipe that fill the bottom fork leg from top to bottom.
Since the forks do nothing other than provide a platform to attach the wheel its not an issue just an occasional annoyance.
If you took the fork leg out of the bike you would be able to pull the stanchion straight out of the fork leg, there is no bolt to secure the 2 sections of the forks together as on conventional forks.
As more miles get put on the bike you'll more than likely find it goes away as the components bed together.
