My steering lock has suddenly failed. I can turn the bars into position ok but can't turn the key to lock the bars. Any ideas what may cause this? :(

Ignition switch's on the 1150 are prone to siezing. Drop lightweight oil through the keyhole and jiggle the key to move the oil around the barrel to free things up.

Just a thought, you haven't got a baglux fitted have you? The straps around the yoke can foul the lock if theyre not fitted properly....

Silly question - you're turning the bars the right amount, aren't you? The lock only comes into 'play' for a short arc of movement and it's quite a long way off full lock...

I second Mike's comments. this fooled me for a bit.. just a limited arc not full lock. I also lubed the ignition switch as the key seemed to be stuck in the lock.

it doesn't appear to be an "arc" problem as it used to work fine and I've tried it through the whole range of movement of the bars both ways.

I've got a wunderlich tank bag that straps around the yoke. I'll try removing it and see if that makes a difference. If not I'll try madmountainman's suggestion.

Thanks for all your comments - much appreciated.
