I`m DEFFO going mate.

Probably on my Kalahari 1100 again as my NEW BUELL ULYSSES won`t be run-in by then.
Mind you.....I`m partly tempted to take one of the Urals for a laugh :D

The LegoBike sale isn`t all that sad,as it means I get to keep my cherished red 1100.

See you at the Railway Station bar in Bardonecchia :beerjug:

camp site

Me and my mate are also crossing from Dover on the Wednesday, and aiming to camp en route. Had planned on just finding campsites as we go along, but would also be pleased to hear about any recommended sites.

Also, anyone know any decent campsites near the town at at Bardo? Had one recommended that looks good http://www.bokki.it/ but it's apparently 2 or 3 miles walk into town to take refreshment....

I stayed at that site a few years ago and yes it is a bit out of town but its about the closest you will get for camping it has bar on site and we had a few good nights there when we were there were a lot of brits on the site and we all got on well with the locals and a very good time was had by all

Or you can camp up on the mountain for free
There is a place by the lake half way up where they all camp we couldn’t do it the year we went because one of us was on a new road bike and there was a lot of snow on the mountain road

I cant go this year but its one of the events I will Defiantly go back to at some time maybe next year????????

Have a good one :thumb2

Two more days work, then off to Dover on Wednesday. Can't wait! Many others from here going?

Safe trip, if so.

Just to reconfirm...I`m going :thumb

I`ll be crossing on Wednesday too ... look for a Kalahari 1100GS and a dodgy haircut :D

Look for a black 1100GS with a natty blue seat and a yellow F650GS with Givi's and matching roll bag en route - we are leaving on midday Chunnel Wednesday. so with all the likely security checks, we will have to be on the road from 6:00 AM :(

OK, Ill be there for the weekend with a couple of ex pats from Germany.

I'm off on Friday early, in the tunnel at lunchtime then heading south to get to Bardonecchia tea time Sat. Stopping at Charmont on the way down. We will keep an eye out for stragglers.

We will be hanging around the station bar in Bardonecchia I guess. Mine is a blue and white 1150 with UKGSER stickers and a metal "Tosser" badge on the beak extension.

Make yourselves known!!

See you there..........

LC

I`m meeting a bunch from XRV.org on the Saturday night in the 'corner bar'. It`s at the bottom of the hill which is Bardonecchia main street and roughly opposite the pedestrian subway entrance.

Failing that, most seasoned piss heads congregate in the Railway Station bar :beerjug:

Okay slashing down again, and my engine bars will have to wait till after we come back to be fitted:(

Just back from the dentist, and he has held off on doing a root canal as my jaw woul;d be swollen for a week just were my helmet strap will be! So gave me antibiotics in case it flares up again and reminded me to keep the peggies clean as a whistle till I get back... not too bad.

Start new job 30th July :D :D ... can feel it getting closer to the good times again...Stella Stella Stella, here we come!

Okay hands up who went ? And where are your piccies??

Eyup Bert,
Know yours are there ,as are mine, just wondering if there where more than 4 of us there. :)

Harazarding a guess

I'd say that KLR got carried in some 4 wheeled vehicle....:augie
don't remember seeing that one up the mountain:nenau and that camo would have been sure to stand out :D as the snow had mostly melted aside from some sheets :)

Me,me, me I went. For those of you who enjoyed riding the Colle delle Finnestre I've just hear from Enzo - the Italian chap we went offroading with the day before the Stella - that it has now been permanently closed to motorbikes and quads. But it's still open for cars!!!!!!

Seems like Italian government is as daft as ours.
