Its not for a GS or an 1150, but I know you will look in this section.

Grinnal clutch, box/engine from k1100lt. Thought I'd take a wee look at the clutch because changes are a bit grunchy.

Found this plate in it. Think its ceramic or something. Does anybody know the make. I thought TT ones had 4 pads.

The pressure plate is spaced out with washers , about 1 mm thick.

Anyhoo, a few pics. One of the springy strip things was broken off and had been flying around the bellhousing. No damage, just scraped a bit

Pads are 7.6mm at the unworn bit and 7mm at worn bits, but mighty close to the rivets, about 1mm on one side, a tad less on the other.

Do you think I should bung it back in again ?

If you look at the pic with the pressure plate you can see the broke bit. What effect do you think this would have had ?

Thanks for looking and for any replies.

IIRC :rob Mark used a KRS clutch as standard in his builds,
The ceramic was an opton plus a supposedly race one from the States..
Ceramic was very fierce until one got used but the race clutch was smooth as silk.

Sounds like your center splines are bone dry...
just a smear of graphogen on the splines smooths it right out..
the broken bit could have thrown engine balance out, thrown the clutch out of true, causing drag all in all making the bugger a "little" vibey ..

Just noticed it has 'Miba T1' on one of the rivets. Googled them. They make racing and performance clutches, but cant find any reference to bmw bikes.

I fitted a similar driven plate to an R1100rt

I bought the driven plate on Ebay (new) for the princely sum of £90.00 delivered.
It was made by Touratech, and sold by them for £315.00. Came complete with the spacers you describe.
Found it excellent, and no probelm with "grab".
If I had been buying it off them, I would have been reluctant to do so at the money they charge.

I suspect this is the page and company you are looking for.
http://www.rbracing-rsr.com/bmw_clutches.html

And the is the company website.
http://www.rbracing-rsr.com/bmwturbos.htm

One of the most informative websites you will ever encounter.
Look particularly at the tail end of the second page I have listed.
It is to do with customers trying and sonetimes succeeding in screwing them.

Forgot to mention:

Your Driven ceramic plate appears to be perfect. Re-Use it.
The rest of the clutch is standard BMW.

I thought I'd read on another forum that folks have been waiting in anticipation of an actual release of the products listed...but thus far has been vapor-ware...
