Steptoes Moroccan Dash 2

RS would be no trouble, in fact any bike would be suitable. And anyone is welcome.

There will be some small roads, but not going off road, unless you wanted to take an offroad route and meet up further along.

hmmm .... where did I hear that before? :D

£115 , at the present time.

Same as last year, I don't know how many are going till they turn up at the terminal. Last year One guy only signed up on the board on the weds before departure, made one post, and turned up  .

Tim got the early ferry 5,30 am, and set off ahead of us. Met up with him at Bordeaux

Looking forward to it :thumb

Missed it last year, be buggered if I'm going to miss it this year. Count me in Neil, although I'll most likley have to meet you somewhere in France after a 2 day blat back across from Serbia. Got to be in NS for my birthday party:D :beerjug:

"Take each day as it comes, don't set yourself a target. if you miss it, you'll be chasing yourself to catch up, or you'll have to change the "plans".

If the road looks better elsewhere, go down it, and find out.

The biggest bonus - No plans = nothing can go wrong"

The man is a true poet

Have brilliant and safe trip as I'm sure you all will.:clap

Six of us are leaving 11 April returning 4 May so unfortunatley we won't get to meet up down there, next time maybe:)

I have read your first Morocco report with interest - this included the initial thread similar to this one and the aftermath report started by Whatton.

I was unable to answer the following question from the above;

What happens if you breakdown while in Morocco? I'm on an 1150 Adv. Its an 05 plate with 8k on the clock - ABS model.

I guess with a bunch of GS'ers we could fix most things ourselves but there could be an issue that couldn't be fixed by ourselves!! I really don't want to sound like a div, but I'm interested to know. -- It may be your bike and not mine so good for us all to know.

Trying to fend for myself I have found out that you my need to load the bike into the back of a van and transport it back to Spain where BMW assist will takeover! How realistic or expensive would that be?

I am happy with the format, I can organise TPFT insurance, 2 to 2 1/2 days down through France and Spain sounds ace. Only 4 days Holiday for a big trip.

Please answer the above and I really really could be in. I'm well up for an adventure and all the surprises that go with it.

Cheers
Dean.

.

You get it fixed or back to spain. The same as everyone else who ever goes to morocco. :D

If you were to be immobile and need a van, the cost would depend on where you were, who you know, and how good you are at haggling :D it's what everyone else does.

I haven't got BMW assist, so would also need to get back to UK. But if you worried about everything, you wouldn't leave the house.

You don't seem to be, judging by the questions asked :D :D :D

Steptoe

Count me in for this trip! I`ll sort the tunnel and work and see you at the tunnel. Do you need any info from me or is it just a case of turning up and getting on with it?

You've got it - turn up and get on with it .

Nearer the time, i'll need everyones mobile number, and if you have a GPS unit.

Everyone will get a list of everyones phone number, and if they have a GPS.

Some may want to use the cheaper option of a ferry crossing, or maybe booked on a different time train ( earlier please, not later than the time i'm crossing), as last year, we all met at the service station on the road outside the channel terminal.
Those who cross earlier on the ferry, we meet along the road on the way to to bordeaux.

I'm afraid it's autoroute all the way to bordeaux, as the point of the ride is to get to Morocco.
Once in Morocco it's more relaxed .

It's a Gonzo road trip :D :thumb

rearanged things so I'll be with you from the start:thumb :D

Anyone fancies making a longer trip of it? On the way back I'll be cutting off across southern France, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia, Montenegro, Serbia and up in to Hungary to see Rodger Waters in Budapest on the 14th:thumb Followed by a steady blat back across Austria, Germany and back to your prefered crossing to UK. All and everyone are welcome to tag along for all or part of the extra bit:thumb
