Just heard from Steptoe.
He is on the the train at last.
Possibly one of the bikes has a proiblem further back down the road in France. Neil has been receiving texts about spark plugs.

Hi all after I left the dash at Ouarzazate I headed to Tinehir and the Gorges de todra I made my way via Assoul to Rich and then Stayed in a small hotel at the start of the Gorges du Ziz then down to Er Rachida the following morning then turned round and headed back up country picked up a 3inch nail in the rear tyre got it repaired in a small village after having aggro with the bm kit. how I laughed as I saw Morrocan Vulacanizing in action for the first time the equipment appeared to be an old fly press with a tefal domestic iron welded on to it with the tyre off they cut small patches of rubber placed them on the inside over the hole then when the iron was hot enough wound the press down and left it there till the patch melted I had real doubts about the repair but in all fairness it lasted all the way home so it cant be that bad. Later as I was just past Irfrane I saw what I assume where baboons in a wooded area. on friday I crossed back into Spain and experinced shocking weather near Granada in the form of sleet and a thunderstorm I finally got home to Poole at midnight last night fecked but contented that I had acheaved a long held dream to visit the african continenent on my GS I would like to thank Neil and everyone else on the dash for making this possible hope you all made it home safe and look forward to seeing you all at the Hograost.

Last heard of waiting for the ferry after ours to mainland Spain as he brought a return and it was not valid on the same ferry as we took. I assume he made his own way home.

On your trip report
Well, what can I say.
First and foremost a big thank you to everyone who went along with special thanks to Neil for giving me the opportunity and the confidence to visit such a fabulous place.
Chris and I went to Gibraltar on Saturday for a full English on the rock (he said it was the most expensive breakfast he'd ever bought) and then back to Burgos via Seville and Salamanca on sat night. This was a surprisingly good route which was mostly motorway with some good A roads in between.
Up to Calais on Sunday (832miles) and an early boat out of Boulogne this morning and home for lunchtime.
Bike washed and put to bed for a well earned rest.
As per an earlier thread it was a stretch with 2 days over the 800 mile mark but I am so glad I went.
My highlights were the locals (so friendly and helpful), the roads, the mountains (up to 2206m) the experience and even being caught in a "sandstorm in the desert".
The low points were the traffic back in the UK, I am always amazed that we see such selfish drivers who hog the road when we come home. Even the moroccan driving was good humoured and much better than I expected.
If this trip happens next year and you cant decide if you should go, my advice to you is JFDI, you will have a ball.

After the first plug got spat out after 100 miles, i used 2 plugs in the hole
And it's still inflated after 1450 miles -i'm going to carry on using the tyre and see how long the plugs last

We asked for a room with a view - it was the best they could do, i won't bother staying there again

I waved to you lot from the quay side as the ferry left. The return "bargain ticket" wasn't such a bargain after all.
Hope everyone got back safe.
Having seen the bolt extracted I can't believe Steptoe's tyre was actually useable at all!
Monkey is fine but the wallet took a bash in Spain from the local fuzz. Something about a dirty number plate!
Brilliant time and a great bunch. A real pleasure.
Thanks to Neil for not organising Ferries, Hotels, Routes, Immigration argy bargy, food and drink and for generally being a total tosser! Useless individual!
Came back along the East coast of Spain via Granada and then via Cahor. Managed to get a late crossing last night and home by midnight.
Thanks to all and photos very much appreciated having broken my camera on day one! Knob!
So, is Staples to Naples on in a day? Piece of Pee for the hardcore.
