Steptoe's Spring Fettling session!

After long a protracted negotiations with Steptoe's management commitee, we have a date for the next West Mids service session.

Saturday 10th April at:

C& D Auto's Unit 3-5a, Bird Business Centre
Long Marston Halt, Stratford-upon-Avon CV37 8RP

Please let me know if you want to be there and what you need doing to your bike. Neil will bring basic service stuff with him but you will have to bring your own oil!! If you need anything major doing, let me know a.s.a.p so we can allocate the right time.

Payment is directly to Neil but we will need a £20 contribution from everyone for use of the facility. This goes toward the C&D race team who race a Yamaha R1 in British Superstock Championship. It will probably buy a rear tyre for a race but every little helps. The bike will be there so you can have a peek at a very, very fast R1.

Me please... 1150, general checkover, TB's valves etc, I think it runs great but you do get used to things. Good to get a health check

2001 R1150GS - valve and valve end float adjustment, balance throttle bodies and basically get it running sweet and smooth. Oh and a quick check over stuff like paralever, rear drive etc

ooh yes please! I'd like to do end float etc but also check my valves on the RHS-burned an exhaust valve a few months ago.

Yes, please? Cracking job done on my surging issue at the last one (November?). Feel sure I'll need a general service cometh the day, and my new choke cable fitting. 1998 R1100GS. 36k miles ish.

Fluids I guess too, I'll look at the service schedule and see what it's supposed to have done and I'll bring the fluids with me, along with the tyres thanks

I'll have a go at the timings over the weekend if that's OK. I know Dibdob69 wants about lunctime. I'll make sure folk coming from distance get a sensible time and us locals will have to fill in around it

Chris I'm having difficulties starting my 1150 now - original problem was running rough at 4500 revs and above. The tappets and tb's have been done, new battery, plugs - I am going to try substituting Bobbles coils for mine to try to eliminate that as an issue. After that I'm stumped!
