Stickiest tyres for stock wheels

GB use all of it since you paid for them all...;)
Just keep it between 6 and 8000 rpm to get a little go...TC takes care of the rest...:D
Have fun...next month I will take the S1000RR out for 2 days one more time this season too have some good memories to make it through the cold and wet winter until spring where we hopefully get to see and test-ride the all new S1000RR & 1250 GS and maybe the R 1250 S...:thumby:

That is my plan, gonna put the TKs on this weekend to wear them up then fit the Pirelli’s. My spokes aren’t in the best condition and riding them through the winter will only make them worse.

Its only September next month thought norcal had sun and good weather for most of the year, bit like southern Europe.........:nenau

Good twisty mountain roads like Europe but from mid cctober to end of april sometimes may lots of rain and snow on the sierra passes...:( So-Cal lots of rain/mud-slides,too...Iy want sunshine, white beaches and water warm enough to swim...mexico !

Most of us except the hard adventure riders avoid mountains in Winter, but still plenty of roads to ride on lower down, do you only have mountains in norcal and socal, just asking as never been there.

The valleys and cities are boring but the mountains with the passes are where the fun is...:thumb2
Riding season is from mid may to end of october...otherwise rain (lots) and snow in higher elevations...:(
Unlike the stupid Hollywood image people have about kalifornia...lot's of law enforcement spoiling the fun...but it's pretty even if the road surfaces are bad and speed limits ridiculously low.
Mexico it's where it's at...:thumb2

Like in Europe I always liked to ride in germany, southern france, alps and spanish islands !
Very good riding...:thumb2
The Transfaragasan in Romania looks interesting,too...hope I spelled it right...;)

Running Conti Road Attack 3, they show signs of very light heat/tear at the edges when pushed hard on the GS. 1290 GT and they were border line for getting greasy when pushed hard (slight slide possible, though predictable) but that was going hard and high temperature tarmac in Germany last year.
If previous experience of Michelins is anything to go by then Pr5 grip should be superb. Tread pattern looks much improved from Pr4, they were superb apart from got sick of the many different punctures in the rears.
Dunlop Roadsmart 3 also very good.

Just fitted a pair of Michelin Road 5's to the 1290S Adv. The profile looks wild compared to the stock tyres. Will report back but imagine they're going to be way quicker steering.

Edit: Profile similar to a hardcore sportsbike tyre. With sypes.

They do turn fast and the profile lends to a bigger contact patch as the profile is quite similar to a sports profile . They ride really well only done 150 miles on but both in the dry and damp / wet feel great . Think they have given us another choice of tyre more towards the sport road type rather than the usual duel types . Bring on Spain

Have you got the Road 5 or Road 5 trail on your bike...........:nenau

Well my inconclusive conclusion is for road use only would be road 5s but for trackday either PS2 or CRA3.

I feel it’s a case of suck and see as the PST 2 is a duel tyre and the Conti a more rosd focused tyre , let us know how you get on

Pop down to Reiten Motorrad and ask Dave what he rides on. He's a seriously fast rider, instructing at Cadwell.
