Sticking gear (air still in clutch line possibly) Heeeeeeeeeeelp

Im sure you have covered all the basics, but I find that the quality (or indeed lack) of gearbox oil can have a surprisingly significant effect on the quality of gear change, particularly down the box

You have checked the oil?

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah
out yesterday in the hot weather and here we go AGAIN !!!!
so it will be fine for a little bit but when all warned up, you can change up through the box but will literally refuse to change back down.
Normally if you're off the throttle for a bit in said gear like 5th or 4th and just wont change down ????
new slave new master pretty sure bled properly! had no trouble on 1000mile run but was cold as hell !
It's like the pressure plate is done or something as clutch doesn't slip ? dry rusty splines ?
How can i inspect the clutch without splitting bike or is it unlucky chucky get on with it .
Cheers Duncan
Explain in more detail, when you try to change down ,does the gear-lever move? Say 10 mm but nothing happens?
Can you change up?
Does it then change down?

Completely remove the gear lever shift shaft from the bike frame. Thoroughly clean/deburr both shaft and bushings, grease and reassemble.

Stop at the top of a hill, turn off the ignition, put it gear and pull in the clutch and see how it rolls down the hill. If it's dragging it should show you but if it runs free clutch can't be too bad.

You can also get new frame bushings from BMW for a surprisingly small sum.

I did that with mine, but new were no better than the originals which were mint.

In my case a build up of fine road crap had congealed inside the bushing/shaft gap and set, reducing gear lever travel. Once cleaned the shift was effortless.

Mine has just developed a rusty dust on the exhaust just below the silencer can. I could not fond a source but today noticed the gear linkage ball joints are wearing the top is especially slack. I'll be getting some new rose joints with O rings either side to reduce vibration chatter.
