When riding, throttle will stay in open position before letting go and springing back to closed. Obs I only test this with a hand close by...it feels like its on cruise control momentarily, but I don't have C Control.. I have looked, and see nothing that stops it twisting and springing back / I can see metal handlebars between brake housing and grip. Does not stick when not being ridden. then it twists and returns freely. Feels like a sleeve tube with grit under it. I can open and close throttle easily but its just not 100% when riding. I realise it could be a MOT failure but they only test if it springs back, not what happens when its being ridden. Same happens when heated grips on or off. Not changed handguards or installed anything new. ideas? oil down the side to lubricate?

Try slackening the bar end weight and repeat the test.

My Hexhead grips would expand when turned on to hot and behave like you describe, fixed by packing out the bar end weight with a copper washer beneath it.

No. Happens even when heated grips are off. I can rotate the bar end weight. Also gap between bar end weight and grip. Will try oil or wd 40 next

Mine did this today where same as you describe the throttle sticking especially when heated grips are switched on?

Noticed today mine wasn’t springing bank to closed when hand released.

AD has an LC engine - which is fly by wire

If its the LC , its a fly by wire throttle

New assy required, the pot will be worn , throttle failures are a common fault

Sprayed wd40 between bar and throttle. Smoother than a babies bumb the last week. Free movement like an over eager sensitive on/off throttle on a ktm 990. Fixed for me.
