Sticking vario panniers...

Mechanism is sticking (or rather there is too much friction between the sliding channels). Just had one to bits and reassembled with silicone spray but it made no difference. Is it the seal and what should I lube it with? The mechanism was very free without the back on.

I suspect it may be muck in the seal. I hadn't used mine for a few months when I sold the bike in April. Embarrassingly, one of the mechanisms was completely seized. The last trip I had done with the boxes fully extended included long stretches of road works and torrential rain ...

Does the seal just pull off to clean it? It looked clean and i blew it with compressed air?

I have silicone spray. workes a treat.

I started the thread stating I had used sikcone spray but that did nothing. I just tried vaseline on the seal again still very stiff? Any other ideas. It is all very clean in there.
