hi all and a very hippy nude bear to all
now down to the problem,
has anyone had their starter button stick down when depressed resulting in the starter motor staying on
i had this on the last honda, and it was solved with a quick squirt of wd. this has not worked on the gs though, so has anyone had the switch apart, to clean it . or is it some kind of sealed unit only for replacement? any views

My 1100 does this sometimes. I dont think it's the button sticking down, I think it's the drive bit that whizzes out and connects with the flywheel thats not returning quick enough. Technical descriptions not my strong point but if mine gets any worse then I might take the starter out and clean and lub it up. It only does it once in a blue moon at the moment so I can't be ar*ed to do it now. Jim

no it is the switch sticking and its happening all the time this last week i have to pull it up each time i start up,

This happened to me when I was touring in Scotland. Switched the ignition on and the bike started up on its own - made me jump a mile. Anyway, I use a switch cleaner/lubricant from Maplins and spray that in. The other thing I noticed is that the button "rotates" and in one position it sticks easier. I just keep my eye on it and make sure it pops back up after starting - no big deal.
