Hi all hope you clever bunch can help, I’ve recently replaced a rear tyre On my GS rallye with the “Gold and Spoke” option :okay and the weights position has changed leaving a Sticky residue mess, in the past I’ve not had trouble removing this usually with WD40 or similar and rubbing but on this occasion it’s a bit stuck, any suggestions for a method that won’t effect the nice shine on my Goldilocks rims would be greatly appreciated, and no I’m not going to paint them black ta I like the gold :beerjug: Here’s hoping hey

A cloth soaked in petrol and give it a rub. Otherwise there is product for removing glue but i cant remember what its called.

Success

Cheers, the old nail varnish trick worked ta, it’s something I’d done years ago and completely forgotten about, I suppose it’s an age thing But hey experience is a great thing but remembering it all is the key to a happy life haha. Cheers for the help and at least now I don’t have to paint them black !! God forbid hey.

Try a 3m's rubber wheel decal remover. Its a rubber disc that you put in a drill. Ive used one to removed stickers on car body panels and bike fairings. It will removed decals and glue without any damage.
