Hi,

I have R1250GS, 2020, about 2500 miles. I’m 5’10 and normal build. Seat is on low setting, as is the suspension. Shoei full face helmet.

Don’t do lots of long distance riding (busy with other stuff, but one day…), but do commute 10-15 minutes each way every day, unless it’s lashing down.

Over the last month or so, I have noticed I have a stiff neck, which got better on Monday Tuesday of the week, perhaps because I didn’t ride the bike over the weekend, or on those two days because the weather was crap, and I have a perfectly functional car. I do notice it when riding.

Does anyone else get a stiff neck related to biking, and if so, any recommendations regarding handlebar position / adjustment?

Thanks
Simon

Lower bar position a little, make less pressure on wrist and neck maybe.

Maybe try up and back risers

Also, if you haven’t already, try the riders seat with the front in the high position and the back in the low position, this will tilt you a little less forward and should reduce the weight on your arms and shoulders (and nuts against the tank)

So there you have it. Lower the bars or raise the bars. Job jobbed. :D
Next!

Are you at all tense when you ride?
I'd try the up and back risers as mentioned above in the first instance. Someone on here may well have a set they'll sell

Yeah, thanks guys.

Up, back, forward, down and change the desk :)

Actually, I did wonder if I was tense whilst riding, and realised I was, but only when I thought about it. I didn’t get a stiff neck in the first few months of ownership. Perhaps it’s not the bike. Then again, I’ve had the desk for about five years…

Might look at risers.
Cheers

I will have some up and back risers coming up for sale.

Could be a lot of different things… pelvis tilt even. Hope you work it out.

Spect one of the less forgiving contributors will be along to soon to tell you to read the manual.
