Still service yearly if less than 100 miles?

So I’m due an MOT and service but I’ve only covered 83 miles since last year. Should I service the bike again?

It still has a few weeks left of BMW approved warranty. I would like them to check the ticking noise from the left cylinder and also the vibration/knocking from rear end that’s felt through the seat and pegs.
 
There’s a free end of warranty check regardless.
Most dealers roll it into the annual service/mot BUT it’s been known to be skipped and just signed off anyway.
I’d be tempted to have a stand alone warranty check. Then look at service/mot.
Speaking from personal experience of what happens when it’s skipped and the expensive repercussions.
 
I think I will book in for the end of warranty check then and MOT plus mention the issues.
I just can’t accept the service after 83 miles (except for brake fluid if needed).
 
Just get an oil/filter change done. It's circa £200. Not much in the scheme of things, if you need extend the warranty, get goodwill outside of warranty or to need a full service history when trading it in somewhere (who's picky about it).
 
has it had the shaft inspection and drain valve fitted? If not, put it in for that and the end of warranty check.
If it passes the inspection then you might want to consider a service that includes a spline grease which is now part of the service schedule. If it fails the inspection you will get a new shaft free of charge and this might fix the vibration.
 
That’s the dilemma I have last year when it was due an annual service I still hadn’t reached the expected mileage for the service ,I asked the dealer to carry out a thorough inspection to make sure everything was ok ,
I did the oil changes myself I didn’t fancy paying £200 for and oil change when I could do it for a lot less

Don’t bother with the service if you’ve only done 83 miles, it will be a total waste of money.
If you feel the bike needs an oil change do it yourself but in reality the oil will last another year. 👍
 
Dont ride it fast or far with that knock/vibration to the rear or you might get a exposed view of the shaft.Have a look or get it looked at asap.
 
Booked in for MOT and ticking noise from left cylinder. No driveshaft technical campaign outstanding.
I didn’t bother asking about the service. I think I will purchase the service parts and order oil online to service myself.
Just need to look into how to reset the service light.
 
Driveshaft drain fitted before I bought it a few years ago. I will check and lubricate the splines while I’m servicing the bike.

Yes that’s what it worked out as .went in to enquire about a inspection to make sure as I hadn’t covered many miles after the deduction of the inspection the oil and filter change worked out at £200.
Don’t forget they would have been using motorrad brand oil.
 
To keep the "stamp" fair enough, BMW branded oil or not, thats an outrage too undo a few bolts and a filter............. but yes, like I say, I am getting old and thankfully so are my bikes so I dont get bent over anymore.
