Both our bikes are back home , Julies F650gs has had some TLC and new Wilburs shocks , mine has had a service all done by Mike (Overland and Classic) . So we ummed and ahhhed about taking them out for a few hours. I have a bad back but with painkillers and bodybelt, well it had to be done.

Quite cool and damp out so loads of layers , still snow around on Burbage, makes it feel much colder. We stay on A roads mainly to bed my new rear tyre and brakes in then start to play on B roads, even had a few runs through a ford. When Julie gave me the death stare we shot across to the Smithy for a late lunch. Our favourite greasy spoon of many years. The weather was very cloudy and on occasion the light quality was interesting. As ever the photos don’t do it justice.

Will stick a few photos up.

All the male stags in Chatsworth.

The inner child said do it ,Julie waits for me to fall off.

So cold we went for high fat option.

Julies Zumba class is cancelled for later so she is treating herself to the Smithy Classic Apple Cake. I am allowed a small taste because I am fat, whohoooo. Damned fine it is too.

We take ages over lunch , well we are sat next to the pot bellied stove.

Off home the long way and back over Burbage. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Really good to be out after several weeks off the bike, back in rinsed off dried with care, locked covered,, until the next time.

Now wheres that Cocodamol .

Looks nice, whats the cafe!

Ebbo, The Smithy at Monyash probably the best in the Peak. Vanilla Kitchen in Tideswell was excellent but lost its way with new owners.:thumby:

The Smithy is good but costly if it's your round and there's a few of you, the Yonderman is hard to beat for cost and quality, there's always a few off this forum there at weekends too!

About time we saw some Tossers out in the Peak. Not a soul other than us last weekend.

Andrew. You as well as my photographer need to read Giles' "Hurrah" thread. It is jolly good. ( NOT to be read out loud in a Valleys accent)

:D

Cyclists' cafe at Elton been gone for some years I'm afraid. :tears
(Unless it's been reinstated since I left Birchover!)

No it's long gone, service was a bit slow but it was my favourite without a doubt, visited it every Sunday for years on the Trail Bike.

The other one Woodbine next to the petrol station in Hope also good. Has changed hands recently not been in for a bit.

+2 or is it +3 for Yonderman too. Try the pea and ham soup, very tasty and adds at least 4mph from the wind it develops. Marvellous.

Apparently Julie has looked on Trip Advisor and Woodbine has gone down hill since new owners in. Folks have started to dine at Blue Apple Gallery, been in twice very good nosh but a little expensive. The couple used to run the Strines pub.
Can feel another run coming on for the weekend.:thumby:

Have read it fella and thought "What's Occuring"
Lovely photos Giles.
Ours were taken with a camera with a net curtain no 7 filter to achieve that crap look. It takes some fekkin practice to achieve crap results like that , it's all well and good some copper comes on ere making us look bad. Now I'll have to get me big camera and tripod out and pose every shot for an hour. No we will ride knock a few out.:green gri Then take some more crap photos.:D:beerjug:
