Stock seat front gap

I prefer to have my stock seat in high-front-low-rear position (which is not "officially supported" since the manual says it could unlock - but doesn't).

Unfortunately this arrangement leaves quite a big gap between the seat and the gas-tank and I can even see my battery! I suspect this is no good for rainy days.

I think even front and rear both at high position leaves a gap.

Is there any "fix" for that? (and I don't mean a different seat)

I've used my stock seat like this in the UK for years and even in the heaviest rain, no problems have occurred. Don't worry about it.:thumb2

Just make sure that the battery terminals are greased up (Vasaline). The batery on my Passat is exposed to the elements under the bonnet.

I fitted a sheepskin seat cover to make the seat more comfortable on my last European tour, planning to remove it for daily use. However I've left it on as it does a great job of hiding said unsightly gap.
