My mate has just woken up to find his white 02 plate 1150 gs stolen from his drive , the bike was padlocked but only to itself , the bike is white , non adventure , 02 plate with black zega boxes and a black cut down ammo box as a top box , it has 2 pairs of spots and a custom seat cover. Any sightings on any website for sale please call me on 07970 042665

Many Thanks

Steve

Unusual colour so hopefully would be easy to spot if it is out and about. Hope he gets it back quickly and untouched (with the culprits chained to it so he can 'have a word')

Not again !!!! took mine of the road hidden it I have cause of whats happening using the rt instead , hope you get it recovered and chin up if you can  made me mad

It was my bike they took this morning from Luton, got it out of the garage to make early start, but chained her on the drive, when out just after 6am to find her gone!, was up the whole time and didn't hear of see a thing, now starts the fun with the insurance company ref being garaged between 10pm and 6am.

What's going on here!? Are these being stolen to order, and if so why? Surely there can't be that much of a market for 10+ year old, 'old men's' bikes, is there?
I don't mean any offence by the term, but until I got one at the grand old age of 45, that's the way I thought of them!

exactly my thinking. But I guess they sell so they're guaranteed money in hand. For the ones that don't leave the country, we can help by marking our bikes (data tag etc). Won't stop them being stolen but raises the chance of the bastards getting nailed along with as many other obstacles to stop them.

It is clear though, chaining the bike to something (something meaningful! not a wooden fence!) will make it a lot more difficult.

Like slipperyeel said you have to chain them to something solid. ie a ground anchor or similar. Ps sorry for your loss. :bounce :(

Chatting with Steppers yesterday, i think you'll find it's gone. Bikes are being stolen left, right and centre to fill containers, which are then shipped abroad. The thieving scum are paid for a full container of bikes, regardless of age, condition, value etc. With this in mind, i think you're unlikely to see your old GS again.
