Stolen bike...how can I stop this??

Perhaps changing the shape of the disc lock or how it’s attached? Certainly something for them to look at or even if it’s feasible.

To prevent the disc brake being cut, would require a disc lock that looked something like:

As used on car steering wheels.

I can see a new enterprise to fund your next euro trip…….

Wapping’s central London secure garage rental. :D

A few nice strong sheds on your secluded drive and you’d make a tidy sum each week.
You could even offer a wash and shine service for some extra groats. :thumb2

Whose data are they seeking to protect?

Other people that might be in the video. Also: Westfield's being overly careful on the legal side probably.
I suppose the tracker company having to verify with the owner befor alerting authorities lies within a very similar case (someone borrowing the bike, tracker forgot) and avoiding falling into tracking and releasing potentially identifiable data of third parties.

Disc locks are no longer a thing. We have to move on. They were until portable angle grinders.

Not a bad idea, if it can be made.

If the steering wheel lock (as shown in the picture) on my car and camper van is anything to go by, it’ll be bloody heavy.

That aside, the lever is vulnerable if the wheel lock is outside of the vehicle, as it would be on a motorbike. It’s less vulnerable inside the vehicle, for obvious reasons.

It just needs a clever, engineer minded bod to think of something similar.

I’d still like to hear from the OP who it was that refused to issue a copy of the CCTV and their reason(s).

One at least assumes that they have saved the section of video relating to the time of the theft (which seems to be known) and / or other clips showing the ingress and egress points…. Assuming the video camera(s) were working and matey in the video office isn’t in on the theft….. if he / she is Lithuanian, that is a slam dunk certainty :augie

Most trackers are fitted in an easy to find place - both the unit itself and the wiring. I questioned my tracker installation location with BikeTrac, as the location was so obvious; to which they said yes! I then moved my tracker to a far more discrete location on the Bike, and hid the wiring.

I find their team to be very on it when the Bike is moved. However, i have not had it go off continuously. As usually it is me moving the Bike around, or on a trailer.

My preferred solution to bike theft is the legalise the shooting of all thieves... They wouldn't try it more than once ! It's actually my preferred solution to a whole range of crimes. Not only would you solve the crime problem, but population reduction would help save the planet AND think of all the savings from the Benefits system...

I think you need a few different trackers, very well hidden and self powered. However, you also need to ability for yourself, or someone on your behalf, to actually follow the tracker and deal with recovery. And this, I'd suggest is where it becomes a bit tricky...

Ultimately, we just need the Police and the criminal justice system to just do their jobs properly...

Mate of mine had his Vsrom 1000 stolen that he commuted on.

So after payout he bought another AND a cheap shit scooter to go to work on.
2 week later the scooter got nicked.

If you see a bike being stolen, yours or not ... kick the shit out of the thieving bastards!
No, because my bike, or your bike, it’s not worth being skewered for.

A good tracker does have its own internal power source. My BikeTrac gets at least 3 days without any external battery source.
