This is a request for any information of parts offered for sale in the Devon/cornwall area.

Betwwen Friday 26th and Sunday 28th of March my bike was stolen from a locked barn near Bideford, the bike is far from standard as it's a red H reg R100GS but has all the monolever suspension, tank, seat, subframe etc. that makes it appear as an early R80G/S.
The thieves targeted the Beemer only as there are other bikes in the barn and lots of expensive tools and the only thing apart from the BMW taken was a Sealey mig welder.

It is unlikely that anyone would be stupid enough to try to sell a complete stolen bike as genuine so I assume it will be broken up.
If anyone on the forum is offered any parts for a monolever G/S I and the police would very much like to here from you.

I don't post very often on this forum but follow all the advice and banter daily and I know there are people from around this area that use this forum so please be vigilant.
Sorry I can't post a more positive subject.

That's a shite and an unusual crime for the area. Have you got any leads or idea of who might be responsible?

I'm sorry thats happened to you. I know it's not much consolation but I had my R1 stolen in Dec 08, it got recovered in July 2009 just a few miles down the road. You never know..

Got any pics of the bike..
the reg would help as well
I'll circulate them to the other bikers around here.....
We have recovered a fair few over the years...

Yes that was a bit dense of me not to post the reg. number. It's H887LRD I will see if I can get some pictures posted.

As for any suspects I have no idea because the barn is tucked away out of sight from the road and there are no windows so you can not peek inside when no one is around. It was obviously some body that had seen me in there working with the door open but who is another question.

Bugger! Sorry to hear it's gone Ian. I had a 750 Laverda stolen years ago and it's not a good feeling. Strange bike to steal though so hopefully it will turn up locally.

Have you had anyone on the "knock" after scrap etc recently???

Theres been a glut of Scrappies running round the OKE area. we've started recording reg numbers in case things do go missing :'

Bastards....thieving fecking toerag scumbags.

I`ll keep my eyes and ears open around here, just in case.

Better have a quick shufty round at scouse Kenny`s gaff too. :augie

Hoping you get your bike back unmolested.

Very sorry to hear this.:(

As Proff says there have been some suspicious characters around these parts lately. My builder told me a white van drove on to my property recently and left quickly when they saw him. Unfortunately he didn't take the reg number as he thought it was a courier delivering.

If I ever caught a thief on my property it would receive the same treatment as Basil Brush and the bodies would also be buried in my woods.

I can't post pics as I'm not a subscriber.
I could email one to another member if they would like to help out.

Sorry to hear about this Ians, i've had my GS stolen twice. The first time the little scumbags left back into our estate 5 days later, presumably because they couldn't start it. They came back 6 months later at 3 in the morning but I heard them and gave chase with a hurling stick...they dropped it and kept running.
Good Luck.

Ians, your m/c was ridden into Blights garage, top of Clovelly Rd, Bideford at 4.50pm this evening. I thought it might be your m/c, when I started going over to the guy he rode off without buying fuel or taking his lid off. Blights have him on cctv.
He was wearing a royal blue full face crash helmet, green camouflage jacket and khaki trousers.

I have informed the police and they have an alert out for the m/c. Police Log 802

At least you know the bike is in the area and I hope you get it back. :thumb2

I was suspicious as soon as I saw the m/c ridden into the garage: an airhead being ridden by a young bloke: doesn't take Sherlock Holmes to realize something was wrong :augie :D

He really must be a prize twat riding the bike around in broad daylight on the original plates.

Devon you are a star.

I have left a message with the PC dealing with the theft and fingers crossed it will be recovered with not too much heart ache.

Thanks again.
