Had the displeasure of sitting in very heavy traffic on the A303 from Amesbury until just past that pile of rocks on the field - 90 minutes to crawl about 5 miles 
Two points - why the shitty traffic jam when there was no obvious cause on saturday lunchtime?
Also, why visit stonehenge - I looked over whilst slowly plodding past...there were hundreds of people just ambling around the rocks and, so I've heard, they also had to pay for the pleasure
Came past again at about 8pm and there were still people ambling around.
At least when I went as a schoolboy you could touch the stones and climb on them - these folk were kept away from the actual stones by a fence some 20m away
