Just read on another forum that people waiting to pick up their bikes are getting emails from BMW about a stop sale notice issued for all 450GS 's with the ERC clutch. They need to be inspected for correct assembly and adjustment.
Any one had this?

Good friend of mine wasn't allowed to proceed with his pre-booked test ride due to this issue. He tried the version with the 'traditional' clutch instead. Didn't like it (don't know the details - was just a brief WhatsApp exchange that we had). He's going to try the KTM 390 Adv R this weekend I believe.

Ahhhhh…. BMW paying customers are being guinea pigs once again. Why do our own in-house R&D, when we can save a fair wedge and charge the gullible to do if for us instead :blast

They had the ERC clutched bike and conventional going out on both road and off road test rides at ABR. Plus MCN does a back to back ERC equipped bike versus a Honda 500 easy clutch. The Honda wins on clutch smoothness

I rode the Trophy version demo a week or so ago and it was good.

Watching a UT video on it a few days ago the sales guy who loaned the TUber the bike said the easy ride clutch could be retro fitted to other models but also deleted from the Trophy model with a cost saving.

I forwarded the link to the UT vid to the sales guy I'm dealing with at Cotswold asking if it was true that I could have the bike without the easy ride clutch and save some money by doing so?

He'd not heard of this and was going to clarify direct with BMW and come back to me. I didn't hear anything yesterday so suspect it was his day off but will have it without the easyride clutch if it saves a few hundred £s especially as it's new and untested.

I'm expecting delivery of my bike anytime now and haven't had an email saying it's on hold.

Has anybody taken delivery of their new E clutch 450 yet? Only yesterday I bumped into somebody who had literally just taken delivery of their new F450 trophy. Apparently the clutch issue was nothing more than a clutch plate tolerance problem and is in fact, a dealer fix with a special tool. His bike had been checked over and tolerances checked and there he was at the coffee shop with a big smile on his face. I wondered if other dealers were now releasing their stock.

I've changed my purchase from a 450 to 900 which I'll collect on 1 September.

My thinking was I was very impressed with the 900 in Gran Canaria earlier this year, and I didn't like the 450 wheels

I test rode one with the Eclutch about a month ago really impressed with the overall bike but just didnt see the point of the clutch, also it kept shouting at me telling me what geat I should be in
To me its dumbing down an excellent bike
