Thought I'd post this for anyone considering an omnifuel but who hasn't seen inside the box.
I've recently bought a multifuel stove and after narrowing the choice down to the MSR dragonfly and a Primus omnifuel, I went for the primus because it felt a bit more robust although a bit heavier than the MSR.
So whats in the box?
Obviousley the stove, bottle and pump plus you get an ally base mat and wind deflector, a little multitool, a tube of pump grease, a small "dirty" stuff sack for the stove and a larger heavy duty pouch to put everything in.
It's dead easy to light, just pump it up, open the fuel tap for a couple of seconds to squirt fuel onto the priming pad below the burner jet then light the pad.
After 30 seconds or so slowly open the fuel tap and off it goes with a satisfyin roar
The flame is fully adjustable so simmering etc is no problem.
I was told the main cause of problem with sooting up is due to the stove being used on a low flame setting for short periods. The best way to prevent it is too let it run flat out for a minute or two after use (if it's not flat out during cooking). I tried this and sure enough all the soot simply burnt off
All packet up
