Strange buzzing noise under acceleration

I've recently noticed a buzzing / vibration noise coming from around the airbox / tank area when under load or hard acceleration. If I accelerate slowly up through the range it's not as bad and is at it's worse when cracking the throttle open in higher gears to overtake. It's pretty loud, piercing even, loud enough to be heard over everything even with ear plugs in. I thought it might be induction noise, although it's never made this noise before. It's also very distracting, grating even, and is spoiling my daily commute :spitfire

Has anyone else noticed this or similar? Any ideas? It's due a service soon so I'll ask the dealer to look into it.

I had a loud resonance on a recent trip through France, it sounded a bit like the horn although it was actually louder than the horn when I tried it.

Turned out to be the screen which was resonating (I worked this out as the screen cracked through the front right mounting screw). I then found out that it would stop if I rested my hand on the top of the sceen.

Try putting an extra O ring on the lower hinge mounts as this seems to have cured mine. For the future I think I will get a screen vibration eliminator from NN.

My next task is to try a warranty claim for a new one, anyone guess the outcome of a claim for a cracked screen - I can hear the reasons for rejection already.

This may sound daft!! Have you got a headlight protector on?( clear perspex one which sits about 1/2" off the headlight glass), you will know wot I mean if you have! I had one on mine. It resonated like a good un above 65ish. Could clearly be heard above the exhaust and through my ear plugs.Drove me mad for a couple of day,s, had all the tank panels off thinking it was them, but no it was the headlight guard!
Sorry to bother you if it,s not that. I will get my coat now. ;)

mine does something similar. in my case it's the r/h brush guard vibrating against the brake pipe fitting. makes far more noise than you'd think.

My left.......Maybe we should swap ?..... :)

Hmm, thanks for the replies. I have vibration eliminators and I tried holding the screen and it still makes this noise. No headlight protector although I'm thinking of getting one of these :)

I'll have a look at the handguards as the right hand mirror seems to vibrate a fair bit where the left one doesnt.

I had some weird sounds on mine and it turned out to be a crack in the hugger support bracket, made a rumbling, howling noise:nenau

Shep

Cheers Shep, but I've no hugger, or rear guard. Worth a thought though. It deff sounds like it's induction based, or at least under the tank. It's a horrible buzzing vibration like noise, keeps me from reving it tbo. :(
