strange noise

when for a run today around north wales did about 130 miles on the way home i got off the A55 at chester and as i was driving up the A483 at about 30 mph the was a noise from the bike possibly from under the tank area it sounded like someone keying a car high pitched scratching noise ?? i have heard it before any ideas anyone

What type of bike is it, apart from a K series of course. Depending on what it is, water pump or alternator belt.....?

Isnt It good when you nail a sound from a bike, I have a an old Brit bike the many and varied sounds it generates make sure you have a full time job trying to track em down. Clutch whistle, tappets, primary chain slap to name a few.....
