Strange problem with my 12GS - any ideas?

I don't know if any of these symptoms are connected...

The problem started with a irregular sound when I turned on the ignition (not starting it but just powering up) - like something spinning up but getting some fiction. The normal ABS/servo sound was also there and sounded ok - at least I think it was the ABS/servo, but whatever it was it sounded normal.

This sound continued for a month - started ok though.

Then it would not start in the morning, turned over once and if you did not start it first time it would only click when you tried to start it again.

Sound had now disapeared.

Assumed it was battery so got BMW to check - battery was flat but ok otherwise. Charged battery.

Problem continues. BMW changed starter motor last night. Battery I assume is still fulled charged as was fully charged on Thursday (two days ago).

So this morning, turned over - tried to but did not start, turned over again - only clicking. Turned off the ignition, turned on the ignition, turned over -started. Turned off the ignition, turned on the igntion, turned over - I didn't let it start by stopping half way, then I turned it over again - only clicking????? Is it the starter monitor still?

Any ideas?

Possibly loose battery/starter connection or the batteries knackered.

Its always difficult to diagnose sounds on t'internet

Get the garage to put a new battery in it. Once its been deep discharged even once its fairly fooked.

Also, getting the bike started, then switching off an trying to start again, in the cold, with a dodgy battery, is probably asking for trouble.

If you can, use an optimate - especially when cold.
