I fancy another stab at it later this month. Has anyone been down it recently and what condition it is in? Ta :thumb2

Was on a section of it in the Cambrian Rally last year (around the back of the reservoir) and that was in very good condition - depends on how deep it is though.

Oh gosh I am tempted, but it has beaten me once already. Are you doing it on a big GS or.......

Go on, you know you want to! Me on a 650 Dakar and a mate on a 100GSPD. We would just like to get further than last time. :D

We rode Strata about three weeks ago - it was fine. You should do it no problem just keep moving in the deep puddles.

I rode it 2 weeks ago during the Welsh 2 Day Enduro, The crossings were tricky, here is an excerpt from the Enduro News report
( The field then climbed the Devil Staircase to Strata Florida. After weeks of rain the Water Splashes were deep. Opening marshal Paul Davies hydrolic'd his KTM in the fist crossing. The second crossing was the deepest. The sidecars had no problem but a combination of large rocks and a fast flowing current took it's toll on the solos. At times the far bank resembled a second parc ferme as up to twenty riders at a times dried out their plugs).
The whole route has now been way marked which makes it much easier to follow through the forest at the Abbey end.

Don't do it on BIG BM's - the air in take is far to low. We were on Orange things but still big ones.

I dropped my new new DR-Z in one of the crossings a few years ago - the bike was TOTALLY submerged until I fished around and picked it up!

:D
