Warm water, let them dry naturally after and treat with leather conditioner/leder gris/vaseline after.

Just don't tell anyone you greased up your leather with vaseline :ymca

On a similar note - never tell people that you are staying in to polish your helmet either. :o

Might try the warm water thing with an old pair of cheap gloves first before trying out on my expensive Held Akiratex ones.

Good tip

If they get ruined by being wet IMO they`re a very bad motorcycle glove that does`nt deserve the name! They`ll get wet if you get caught in the rain anyway so if you can`t return the for a bigger size wear them & immerse them in some warm water for a while until sodden. Squeeze the excess water out & allow them to dry naturally, not on a radiator etc, then apply your favourite leather conditioner :thumb
It isn`t guaranteed to make a massive difference but it might help a bit :)

Good point - I would ball your fists in the gloves while wet and keep that way for several minutes (do them one at a time - then you can still drink a beer at the same time).

I reckon it might just do the trick, but at least will make the leather more supple, which is probably half the problem.

If they are worth the candle, get some glove stretchers for them. Then wet and stretch - or use Neet's Foot Oil.

Google, or if you are lucky, Oxfam or smilar - used to be very common with old folks.

I've had a couple of pairs that were a bit snug, that gave with time and were fine - but there is a limit to how much you can do.

If you need to stretch the sewing I think you have a problem, because I don't think the thread will stretch.

If you wet the glowe and leave them for drying they won't get the shape of your hand.
I think you better do as I do with leather shoes; I wet them and wear them until they dry.

So;
on a warm & shiny day - wet your gloves and go out for a ride.
And if they are not dry when you stop; wear them until they are dry! If you hold something shaped like the handlebar at your bike they get the best shape.
-You can wear them when you drive a car - much better then let them dry flat on the bathroomfloor.

Again; the threads might be a problem.

When they are 100% dry - wait one more day to be sure, then find vaseline or some grease. Put the gloves on, and do like we womans do when we put our handlotion on.

If you have the gloves as an extra pair when you ride; if you put them in a plastic bag they turn grey. A newspaper is better to wrap around those fat gloves.

:) Liv.
