I have a Streetguard 2 outfit where many of the black panels are discolouring and going brown. It looks like it's a known problem. Trouble is that I don't have the cash to buy replacements, but at the same time I don't really want to look like a large turd with a crash helmet.

Does anybody know if it is possible to dye the discoloured fabric? If so with what?

Any advice would be appreciated.

how long have you got the jacket, after 2 years of ownership i brought my streetguard 2 jacket back to paddy maddocks because of faded colour.
he said give me a couple of weeks :augie
about 2 weeks later he called me and said i have that sorted for you can you call in and collect you new streetaguard 3 jacket foc :D:D:D
go back to the dealer where you bought the jacket and see what they say it was on here i heard about dealers replacing streetguard jackets first
ps do a search :thumb2

+1.

I had the same problem on my Streetguard 2, so I took it back to the dealer. It was a replaced with a new Streetguard 3 without any quibbles. It is a known issue.

Same here with the trousers, 21 months old and SBW sorted it out for me, all they have to do is present a warranty claim. It is defintely a known fault. A few threads on here if you do a search.

Can anybody help I have had my Streetguard jacket about 27 months old. The jacket is little used but I have the problem with discoloration of the black panels. My dealer has refused to help.

Which dealer, assuming you live in the Hertford area then SBW are generally very helpful, certainly were with mine? Although mine was under the 2 year period. Could always try another dealer or of course go direct to BMW Customer Service.
