I just thought I would post here regarding my experience with the SG3 in very hot conditions .

I took it for a month to Morocco in Sept / Oct , I was a little worried that it would be way too warm but I was loath to give up the excellent protection and armour that it provides so decided to chance it .

The coldest day we had was around 33 degrees and the hottest was 41 degrees.
I was spending anything from 6 to 9 hours a day in the saddle .

I can honestly say that it does exactly as it is supposed to do , the coldblack tech and the fabric technology works extremely well . I was never uncomfortably warm and had way more protection than my airflow jacket . Obviously this was with the lining out and all the vents open and the zipper down half way , the pants seemed to work even better .

Just thought I would post as i found it difficult to find actual experiences with it in hot weather before I left .

Counter intuitive having non vented gear being better than vented, but the analogy I've seen is that if you have a hair dryer blowing hot air at you, it's best to have some protection against it.

The only time I'll accept that it's probably best having lots of mesh flowing air is when you're not moving along or walking about.

I have rode the RDGA for the past 4 years and have the streetgaurd 2 gear, was fine for 95% of the time but when down in Menton/Monaco when it was 36 it was hot! But then again it was still hot with shorts and t shirt on.
I would say the streetgaurd gear is really good, was thinking of getting the 3 but also thought about the summer gear and rain suit. Would like to hear from bods who have the summer gear.

John ,

i wouldnt say that the SG3 was better than the Airflow for the cooling characteristics , however I am always concerned by the quality of the armour in the airflow , my point was really that the SG3 is certainly bearable in the very hot weather whilst at the same time having far superior protection .
