Strip or sell as is ?

Well it looks like I'm dealing on a new bike

And I've decided not to px...

The question is ... Do I strip all my goodies off my 2013 GSA Triple black and sell them seperatly or sell it complete ?

I've never done this before, always part exchanged.

It currently has ..

BMW panniers
ARD cases top box
Akrapovic exhaust (headers and silencer )
Tinted Screen and winglets
Garmin 660 with Touratech mount
Screen mount for go pro camera
BMW frame protectors
Touratech throttle lock.



Bike is still under BMW warranty and is transferable .

It's been Hilltopped..

Done 18,000 miles with full history ( Williams Manchester ) and just been done .


I'm struggling to put a price on these or the bike with them left on ..

This isn't an advert .. I'm genuinely stuck how to price

Any help would be appreciated

Personally I would say leave the cases and strip the rest. I cant say you will get more for the bike leaving the cases on but you will make it loads easier to sell. If every penny matters then strip them off as well.

I'm shit at this sort of thing, in fact anything to do with money...........but..........my take is I'd rather go for a quick, clean sale than maximise the amount of money I can get.

When I sold my GS it had even more shit added than yours (including expensive stuff like posh suspension). However, it was all stuff that IMO made it a better, sorted bike so I sold it as is, a proper sorted GS.
I could have made more putting it back to standard and selling all the farkles but what a fecking hassle So, I sold it for just a little bit over what a standard bike would be worth and sold it quickly and easily

What's yours worth with all the farkles? If you go with the above on a private sale I'd say a dealer sale price for a standard bike less a couple of hundred???

I am in the leave everything on camp. Yes you can strip all the goodies and sell them separately, I tend not to. I also hate the selling process, god knows who turning up and then trying to pull my bikes to bits before making a stupid offer. I go for the easy sell, leave everything on, make it desirable and get a quick sale. The best sale is win win where the buyer and the seller are both happy with the price, rather than squeezing or being squeezed.

I should also add thats how I buy my bikes, look for the right spec with the desirable options or extra's and go for it. If its a base spec with none of the toys it doesn't get on my radar. Everyone's different of course, but that's my 2p

Ive bought stuff though the UKGSer for sale section and sold stuff. It's easy and convenient. Not at all like eBay where it's just an impersonal transaction.

Might I suggest that you advertise the bike and the bits seperatly and as the bits sell remove them and lower the price of bike by a certain amount. JJH

I have done both the strip before sell and leave it on and a combination of the 2

Now if it were me I would work out what the cost of all the bits would be to buy on here and then add that figure to the price you want for the bike on its own.

Lets face it someone on here that buys the bike as is with no bits is going to go hunting for those bits to put back on

Advertise it here with everything on. Most people here would appreciate those extras. I sold my GSA on here, and left everything on. The new owner was more than happy, as it saved him having to buy a load of accessories.
