Hello!I did not find thread on this problem.
My bike have new problem in could days (-10...-25C).
Exhaust make noisy shots on engine brake. Not funny small bangs, better like shotgun...
So my friend says on cold weather engine have weak mix gasoline= too much air?
Engine is powered siebenrock 1000CC kit, carbs are standard 32mm bing with original settings. Rise up needle or bigger jets will help?
New spark plugs and wires. New carb controls. Carbs are cleaned last year. Airfilter is clean, valve clearances ok, spark plugs color is ok.
Engine starts and run good but those shots make peoples grazy on my town...

Check the intake head/carb rubbers..
They leak, and then on the overrun pop and fart....

It's because when you shut off, the carbs shut and it gets extra air through the perishing rubbers and runs weak:)

Try this before mucking about with carb needles etc..

Check for leaks in the exhaust system. This causes unburnt fuel in the exhaust to ignite and hence the popping.
