Hi Bryn,
The stubbie arrived, dont know when as I was away. Anyway there it was awaiting my return. Many thanks. All I have to do is stay around for long enough to fit it.
Cheers

Enjoy :beerjug:

I still have 3 sitting in my garage for re-homing :D

Cant be bothered to scroll back 15 pages to find the price, details etc etc. If its cheap enough and the pictures look good I'll have one. One question - is it MOT legal?

I see what you mean about scolling back.... its getting to be a long thread ;)

makes no difference to the MOT...amongst the threads one of my customers have MOT'd the bike with the stubby on.... and no problems... its still quieter than most sportsbike cans.... and the Catalyst is stamped with an e number anyway... the cat does most of the supression of noise etc.....

price is £25 delivered... including a quality flat clamp etc.....

I'll pm you with payment details :thumb

Cheers Bryn :beerjug:

Bryn,

Fitted the pipe yesterday and had a quick test ride to Hein Gerike in Maidstone.
Sounds great, especially on the overrun, a nice deep rumble but not loud enough to be annoying. :D

Cheers

Blast! I cannot get my end can off!! Have soaked it for 48 hrs in WD40 and it will not budge. The problem being the bolt on the main clap, although I did get the nut off.

In desparation I took the bike down to Cardiff Motorrad - Mike agrees that its stuck fast - so I have to wait until the 42K service when he will drop the cat off and attack it with a chisel.

Ho-hum.:thedummy

Just in case you fancy a go at it yourself... the exit to the cat is at 45degrees straight back... in the same direction as the pipe... I'm sure someone used a rubber mallet to tap the underneath of the can in the right direction... if that makes sense?

Otherwise its not too much work to get the cat off yourself ;) that way you can give it a polish when its off! bear in mind the lambda sensor screws into the top of the cat... the cable can be traced up and unplugged to save you having to unscrew the sensor :thumb

Just to make you feel worse my can literally fell off when I undid the bolts :D

Good luck with it

Bryn :beerjug:

Bryn, what is the IS Dia of the pipe please? clamp end. Will it fit the 12?
Thinking of same size boxes:D

The actual diameter of the exit pipe from the Cat on the 1150 is 45mm just about ;)

Thats the same size as the Stubby , but then the cat end of the stubby is widened using hydraulics...that then allows it to slip over the cat exit and is then clamped in position. not sure of the actual outside diameter of the 1200, but there's another difference as far as I can tell... the cat exit on the 1200 comes out at 45 degrees out, and 45 degrees up...the 1150 is just 45 degrees straight back... so I think it would require an extra bend in the pipe to make it come back at the same angle as the can?

Does that make sense?

If you could find out the exact outside size of the cat exit I could have a prototype knocked (or bent) up ;)

Have a look at the exit from the cat on the 1200, then look at one of the advert pics on here... and you should see what I mean :beerjug:
