My odo flashes all the time when i ride (besides pissing me off) what does it mean - the trip meters dont flash just the bleeping odo!

It doesn't mean anything, in the sense of it is not a 'message', like a flashing oil can means, low on oil.

What it does mean is that the juice is not getting to it, or the signal is duff, or maybe that part of the screen is on the way out....

A diagnostic check may reveal all (see your dealer) or simply try undoing the connections, blowing in them or a bit of gentle cleaning with contact cleaner (from Maplins) may fix it.

.......

Problems with the Speedo or Odo can usually be traced to the rear wheel speed signal sensor (also used as the ABS speed sensor). This is fitted inside the rear final drive and can be affected by fine metallic wear/swarf particles from the bevel drive gears sticking to the magnetic sensor and affecting its 'square wave' output signal to the ecu in the instrument panel.

Its worth removing the rear wheel and then removing the abs sensor and giving it a wipe over to remove any particles. It may not fix your fault but its an easy thing to check and eliminate.

I have been inspired by the poor fellow hunting for bricks and his Road to Damacus moment :thumb2

.... Though there is a bod in the Travel section (one of my favourites) wanting routes, hotels etc. all the way from his front door to the Arctic circle as he (and all his gang of mates, mind) wants to go there next year.....

Oiled and ready :D
