how stupid, i melted my old left rear indicator on my 02 1150GS because the bike had a y piece fitted instead of the cat.

ordered a new indicator assy from Bahnstormers Alton, drove the 45 mile round trip to collect, well it is a nice day and i fancied a trip out in the mini!

collected new part, i get home, open packaging to fit indicator assy and find that there isnt a screw to fasten the lens to the body.!

when i rang up to ask i was told " no, you have to order that separately!"

how flamin Stupid does it get !!!!!!

They never are... the assumption being that you reuse the old one. On the motorworks website it states clearly that the screw isn't included in the bag - they do provide one though if required but you have to ask.

I own a 2002 1150gs with a y-piece it was fitted 6years ago i would be interested to know why you think the y-piece has anything to do with the indicator melting as i have never heard of this before.

Do a search chap.. its rather more common than you'ld think. either the indicator melts.. or sometimes the panniers melt or are badly scorched. Nearly always as a result of replacing the cat/box.
