Hey there,

Having a few issues with the bike, during acceleration both soft or hard the bike sometimes stutters and coughs for a few seconds and doesn't gain speed or even drops back.

I believe that is most likely hat the plugs need changing as they aren't keeping up when I decide to give it a bit more poke.

Am I right in thinking that, apart from that she runs perfectly.

Cheers for the help

I believe that current thinking for the symptoms you describe point towards an ignition coil stick breaking down. You will more than likely be able to see the condition of the coil stick insulation when you change the spark plugs. Look for cracks in the insulation or a burnt look to the top where the wires enter. You also may not be able to visually detect any problems even though the coil stick is faulty! Good luck.

08, 20k on the clock, looking at the service specs they would be due in a 4k. Bike has been used for 2 months then left standing for 4 months for about 3 years while I have been away at work.

Cheers for the suggestion Alan, will have a look when I change them.

I'd tend to agree with Alan in that case. You may find a strip down and clean up will help as there's a fair chance that some corrosion has crept in.

Think I have found the reason, plugs are quite rusty and coils are stained on the outside. Doing the plugs for now and hopefully will fix the problem.

Found about 3mm of standing water at the top of each plug, which wouldn't have been helping things...

Will see what happens with new plugs in it
