After my first offroad ride on my 1150gs at the hograost this weekend I'm considering some bar risers along with ordering some fastway pegs to cure the sore feet. Riding on the gravel roads standing up felt like I was leaning over the front end quite a lot, and had to lean down a long way to reach the bars. I'm 5'10 so not particularly tall.

I'm considering some bar risers and seen them from quite cheap (from jaws for £22) up to well over a hundred for adjustable ones.

Just wondering if anyone has suggestions or experience with doing this or whether that leaned forward position is just part of riding standing up.

Jaws risers worked for me (1" up 3/4" back if I recall).

Bear in mind that much more than this and you may need to start messing with hoses etc

Another vote for the Up and back risers fron Jaws here, keen prices and fitted in minutes.

Also if you haven't already done it then you will probably have to turn the bars in the clamps for off road and then back again for on road. Some on roaders get numb hands as the bars are set too high for standing on the pegs.

I carry an Allen key in my handlebar bag and tilt the bars forwards for extended periods of offroad riding (plus bar risers):thumb
