I went in August, it’s very in your face, although it’ll be cooler.
Stay in Manhattan. I’ll list where we went, I didn’t think any of it was a waste of time and we didn’t do upper East or West sides or Roosevelt Island or the heart of Brooklyn or any museums. I was just wowed by the architecture and seeing th8ngs with your own eyes that you’ve only seen on the media.
Took subway to Manhattan during the day on arrival at JFK cheap and no hassle.
Walk over Brooklyn Bridge, join Manhattan side from City Hall subway.
Brooklyn side Dumbo area, TimeOut food hall. Lobster shack near ferry terminal.
Staten Island ferry don’t be put off by crowds, everyone gets on, starboard side for Statue view > island, port side for return.
Wall Street wander, World Trade area, Oculus walk up through Soho avoid main avenues, just nicer.
West Village, Bleeker Street pizza/burger options walk up to Hudson Yards just to see it, it’s become a white elephant.
Central Park
Maceys reasonable. Bloomingdale’s WTF!!!
Wear comfy shoes we walked 60km over three days and used the subway.
