I'd like to polish out some scratches on the large grey tank side panels, however they are a kind of satin finish and t-cutting has made them shiney. Is it possible to polish this type of paintwork and keep the original finish? Or will I have to polish the whole panel now to match and put up with it being shiney?
Thanks, Paul :thumb2

If it's gone shiny then you have removed some of the Matt finish. You will not get the original finish back now :(

Use a product called 'Scuff Stuff'
It'll take the finish back to 100% matt then you can polish back to the correct sheen :thumb

Thanks for the replies :beerjug:
I took off the panels, they're not actually painted, the colour is in the plastic. I asked a paint sprayer I know and he's going to respray them for me.

Paint them black, I did, and they look much better, IMO.:thumb

Chris, you're the paint man - any problem painting these panels ?

(And while i'm asking ...the 'filler' panels in the trellis frame that are plain black plastic - can they be painted or are they too flexible??)

Nearly anything can be painted, it's all about the right prep and the correct products ..........

Ok ...
Definitely thinking pearl white with M stripe in Paris Dakar tribute ...... Could involve painting the main tank that paulR has scuffed too ...!!!
