The clouds parted for approximately 30 seconds just now - and that has prompted me, possibly prematurely, to start looking at summer boots!

I have a venerable old pair of heine gericke winter boots that look a bit like nuclear blast proof wellies but are absolutely brilliant at the job - totally waterproof!

Im looking for something a little more trendy for my summer pair though - what do people think of these alpinestars tech 10s? Are they comfy?

Most enduro guys prefer the Tech 8's due to costs(approx 190quid) compared to the tech 10's.
I have tech 8's(you need them 1 size bigger than ya usual size) and i find them great.....bit heavy though but comfy. You WILL have to adjust your gear lever cos these are chunky!!
Fox trackers might be worth looking at???????

Tech 10's

I have tried some on but I haven't raised the funds yet. They are a lot lighter than the Tech 8's and seem to have better protection. I've not worn moto cross boots before so they felt really strange to walk around in, just like ski boots really.

The best change to me seems to be not having metal on the outside of the toes. I'll be less likely to wreck my bike when I drag the boots over the seat getting on and off.

Further to this - they have alpinestars vectors that look pretty nice too - any thoughts on which?

Sidi's have such a small ankle area that i couldn't get my foot in them.....all sidi's are the same......for skinny whippet ankles....wearers must look like they have flippers for feet!! :D

You're right, they're designed for those of built for speed, not for bloaters.
